Catherine Strisik, poet, teacher, editor; is author of two poetry collections: The Mistress (3: A Taos Press, 2016, awarded New Mexico/AZ Book Award for Poetry 2017); Thousand-Cricket Song (Plain View Press 2010, second edition 2016); chapbook: Insectum Gravitis (Main Street Rag, 2019, finalist New Mexico/AZ Book Award 2020); Goat, Goddess, Moon is forthcoming from Holy Cow! Press, October 2025 (finalist: Two Sylvia’s Press; semi-finalist, Philip Levine Prize in Poetry); and manuscript, Dear Unholy: (finalist: Two Sylvia’s Press; semi-finalist, Elixir Press). She is co-founder and editor of Taos Journal of Poetry www.taosjournalofpoetry.com, on advisory board of Pocket Samovar, was Taos, New Mexico’s Poet Laureate 2020-2021; a recipient of Taoseña Award as Woman of Impact for literary contribution in northern N.M.; is a Pushcart nominee and has over 30 years of publications with poetry translated into Greek, Persian, and Bulgarian. Strisik currently divides her time between Cape Ann, MA and Taos, N.M. where she has lived for over 40 years as a facilitator of poetry workshops, and a now retired language therapist for children diagnosed with dyslexia.
