Louis-Philippe Dalembert, poet, novelist, short story writer, and essayist, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Praised by Edwidge Danticat as “one of the most imaginative and prolific writers of his generation,” he’s a Chevalier in the French Order of Arts and Letters and was a finalist for the Prix Goncourt. His work has been translated into multiple languages, including Danish, German, Portuguese, Romanian, and Serbo-Croatian. None of his poetry books have been published in English.
